Joan Jett, Melissa Etheridge and Smash Mouth to perform at free summer concerts in Las Vegas
Memorial Day weekend starts a series of outdoor concerts featuring rock music at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas.
The Rock of Vegas series is to debut Saturday when Joan Jett & the Blackhearts take to the Experience‘s 3rd Street Stage.
The head of her own record label, Blackheart Records, Jett will perform hit songs such as “Bad Reputation” and “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.”
The concerts continue through Labor Day Weekend. Here’s the lineup:
- June 11: 3 Doors Down (3rd Street Stage)
- July 2: Cherry Poppin’ Daddies (1st Street Stage)
- July 23: Robby Krieger of The Doors (1st Street Stage)
- August 6: Vertical Horizon (1st Street Stage)
- August 20: Melissa Etheridge (1st Street Stage)
- September 3: Smash Mouth (3rd Street Stage)
All shows begin at 9 p.m.
The Fremont Street Experience draws more than 17 million people each year to downtown Las Vegas. Each night, light and sound shows on the Viva Vision canopy entertain visitors.
The overhead screen is 1,500 feet long and boasts 12.5 million LED lights and a whopper of a sound system featuring 550,000 watts.
