What do you get when you blend New York’s famous Blue Note jazz club with Napa’s fine wine and farm-to-table cuisine?

The Blue Note Napa, which opens Oct. 25 with jazz trumpeter Chris Botti. The 150-seat restaurant and jazz club is housed on the first floor of the historic Napa Valley Opera House, which opened in January 1880.

When asked what sets this Blue Note club apart from other locations in New York, Hawaii and elsewhere in the world, managing director Ken Tesler said the new club is immersed in four pillars: wine, music, food and art.

“Being Napa, it was critical to embrace our local environment along with the intimate feel of the Blue Note New York,” Tesler said. “We’ll have the best of the best with a great mix of local artists and world-renowned musicians.”

Napa chef Christophe Girard is designing a companion menu that emphasizes fresh locally sourced ingredients and Napa Valley wines.

Botti is one of the jazz world’s largest draws, Tesler said, and he has a very, very long relationship with the Blue Note.

Tickets, from $65 to $125, are almost sold out for some performances. Additional acts booked for the Blue Note Napa include three-time Grammy Award-winning vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater (Nov. 19-20) and the Freddy Cole Quartet (Dec. 1-4), helmed by Nat King Cole’s brother, legendary jazz pianist, composer and singer Freddy Cole, still going strong at 84.

Blue Note Napa will also present shows in the Margrit Mondavi Theater (a.k.a. the Opera Ballroom) as part of its partnership with the Opera House. Botti will close out his Blue Note Napa engagement with a performance in the ballroom on Oct. 28.
