With one foot in the Caribbean and another in Central America, Belize has many attributes that make it an attractive locale for a tropical vacation.

An eight-day Rainforest to Reef tour organized by Mountain Travel Sobek showcases some of the country’s highlights, with time set aside to kayak or snorkel in Belize’s turquoise waters.

Bird lovers can spot species in Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary and the broad-leaf jungle of Bocawina National Park. Adventurers can hike to hidden waterfalls, zip-line through the rainforest canopy and take a scenic cruise down the New River to visit the Mayan ruins of Lamanai.
