Fitness cruise on Danube River offers cycling, core training, hikes and more
Go rolling on the river with AmaWaterways in 2018, when the company begins offering a new wellness program that incorporates fitness, including biking, into its activity schedule.
The program features morning stretches, jogging, yoga, cardio/core strengthening, resistance band workouts and circuit training.
Passengers can also take part in six guided bike tours and two hiking excursions. The activities include a guided bike tour in Austria from Melk to Durnstein or a guided hike to the Veste Oberhaus fortress in Passau, Germany, for panoramic views overlooking three rivers.
Activities are complemented by discussion groups with a focus on healthy eating and relaxation techniques.
Dates: Aug. 12-19
Price: Seven-night cruise from $2,549 per person, double occupancy. Includes meals, accommodations and excursions. International airfare and $168-per-person port charges not included.
