Pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen to perform on Mexican Riviera cruise from Long Beach
Set sail from Long Beach in February with Carnival Cruise Line and you’ll not only cruise the Mexican Riviera, you’ll also be able to attend a free concert by Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen.
Jepsen, who has sold more than 20 million singles worldwide, will perform aboard Carnival Splendor as part of the Carnival Live Concert Series.
The seven-day voyage departs the Port of Long Beach on Feb. 17, visiting Cabo San Lucas for two days and Puerto Vallarta for a day-long port call. The concert will take place on the Lido Deck on Feb. 18 while the ship is at sea.
Jepsen’s big break came in 2012 when her song “Call Me Maybe,” from her album “Kiss,” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks. It earned her Grammy nominations for pop solo performance and song of the year.
Her next album, “Emotion,” featured the Billboard Top 40 hit “I Really Like You.’’
She voiced the character of Odette in the 2016 animated movie “Leap!” The film featured her song “Cut to the Feeling.”
Carnival’s concert series has included singers Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood and comedians Jim Gaffigan and Chris Tucker.
Interior cabins for the cruise start at $489 per person and balcony cabins from $809 per person (both prices based on double occupancy).
