Boxing great Mike Tyson is back -- and ready to perform, not fight, in Las Vegas
The gloves will come off when boxing champ Mike Tyson steps not into the ring but onto the Las Vegas stage to deliver an introspective look at boxing’s bad boy.
The former heavyweight champion returns to Sin City with his one-man show, “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth,” which returns for Round Two a the MGM Grand.
The 2012 debut at the hotel led to a run on Broadway and an HBO special.
The remarkable example of a revealing, live memoir opens March 3 on Thursdays through Sundays. It closes June 26.
Using plenty of crafted storytelling along with photos and video clips, Tyson peels back the layers of his complicated life.
“… [T]he production is more of an autobiographical show-and-tell with video backdrop than an apology tour,” L.A. Times theater critic Charles McNulty wrote in a 2013 review. “But there were steady jabs aimed squarely at his own foolishness.”
Tyson’s wife, Kiki, wrote the tell-all script.
And there’s a Vegas connection too. The couple and their children live in the Las Vegas area, and, prior to the boxer falling on hard times, Tyson and famed crooner Wayne Newton were next-door neighbors.
Tickets start at $55. For $250, the Knock Out Package includes a backstage meet-and-greet and a photo with Iron Mike.
