America’s national parks this year are celebrating the centennial of the National Park Service. That means lots of deals on trips to the country’s most scenic public lands.

Here’s one from Vacations by Rail: Save up to $75 on a train-travel visit to a national park.

The deal: You have 10 trips to choose from for the $75 savings, including America’s Parks & Monuments Featuring Mt. Rushmore ($2,699 per person, double occupancy) and Yellowstone & Glacier Adventure ($2,795 per person, double occupancy).

You can save $50 per person on train trips to Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, the Grand Canyon and other destinations.

Some journeys include long-distance Amtrak trains, including the California Zephyr, which runs from Chicago to San Francisco, and the Empire Builder, which runs from Chicago to Portland and Seattle.

When: You must book by Feb. 29 to get the discount.

Details: These trips provide a window on how early visitors traveled to our national parks. They provide a scenic alternative to the classic camping road trip, which you can always come back to do.
