USC’s athletic director since August 2010.
Faculty appointment in USC’s Marshall School of Business and the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism.
Was partner and managing director of Riordan, Lewis & Haden, a private equity firm, 1987-2010.
Was an attorney in the Los Angeles office of Lillick, McHose & Charles, 1982-87.
College and pro football television analyst for CBS (1982-90), TNT (1990-97), NBC (1998-2009) and Fox (2008) and on radio with CBS and Westwood One.
USC board of trustees member, 1991-2010.
USC Alumni Assn. Board of Governors member, 1984-88.
Won three letters in football at USC, 1972-74. Played in three Rose Bowls and on two national championship teams (1972 and ‘74).
Graduated from USC magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in English. Won a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics and economics in 1978. Earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in 1982.
Attended La Puente Bishop Amat High.
Member of USC Athletic Hall of Fame (2003), Rose Bowl Hall of Fame (1995), the National High School Hall of Fame (1995) and Academic All-American Hall of Fame (1988).
Married 39 years to wife Cindy; daughters are Natalie O’Connor and Kelly Paulus; sons are Ryan and Taylor.
