Jared Goff says he’ll take Yasiel Puig up on offer to attend a Dodgers game
Lindsey Thiry interviews Jared Goff after the Rams’ No. 1 pick is introduced to the media in Los Angeles.
He is a life-long San Francisco Giants fan, but former California quarterback Jared Goff could soon be at Dodgers Stadium as a guest of outfielder Yasiel Puig.
The Rams selected Goff with the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft Thursday and it didn’t take long for social media to unearth a tweet Goff sent on July 29, 2013 - a day after Puig flipped his bat to celebrate a walk-off home run in extra innings against the Reds.
“I really hope Puig gets a fastball in his ribs tomorrow,” Goff wrote.
Puig seemed to take the old tweet in stride. On Friday he retweeted Goff’s message and extended an invitation to the newest resident of Los Angeles.
Goff said during his introductory news conference Friday that he would take Puig up on his offer.
“It was a really cool for him to do that, to tweet me like that, and yeah I do plan on taking him up on that this summer and go catch a game with him,” Goff said.
