Watch Tony Parker’s amazing shot that helped Spurs beat the Heat
We have finally found someone who can play Curly Neal if they ever make another movie about the Harlem Globetrotters: Tony Parker.
Near the end of Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Heat on Thursday night, Parker’s Spurs had a two-point lead and the ball. Parker then delivered one of the more remarkable plays in playoff history.
Parker dribbled around what seemed like about 12 Heat defenders. He stumbled and fell to a knee as the Heat’s LeBron James closed in, but kept his dribble. Parker then rose up, ducked under James and let loose a shot that dropped in with 5.2 seconds left in the game, giving the Spurs a four-point lead in what turned out to be a 92-88 victory.
“It was a crazy play. I thought I lost the ball about three or four times,” Parker said. “At the end I was just trying to get a shot up. It felt good when it left my hand and I was happy when it went in.”
Even James gave Parker respect after the game.
“Tony Parker did everything wrong and did everything right in the same possession,” he said. “That was the longest 24 seconds that I’ve been a part of.”
