Tale of the ticket tape for Mayweather-Pacquiao a pricey measurement

An inside look at the training days as the big fight draws near.

Reporting from Las Vegas — The official weigh-in for Saturday’s Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao welterweight title fight won’t take place until Friday. But an important tale of the tape was released at midday Thursday when StubHub published figures for its ticket sales on the secondary market.
The average price for a resold ticket up to that point was $6,268, with the cheapest -- for a seat in the upper deck -- going for $2,959, and the most expensive -- for a floor seat -- fetching $40,955.
Demand for tickets -- and hence the price -- is likely to increase as Saturday’s bout draws closer.
StubHub listed 955 available tickets Thursday, starting at $3,398.25 and rising to $351,065.25.
