Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte wants to be like Kim Kardashian
Swimmer Ryan Lochte has won 11 Olympic medals, including five gold, three silver and three bronze.
Now he apparently has a new goal: He wants to be a reality TV star, just like Kim Kardashian.
“Kim started from pretty much nothing, and now everyone everywhere knows who she is. That’s what I want to do,” Lochte told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve seen what E! has done in the past with reality shows like hers. Today, she’s huge.”
The swimmer’s new reality series “What Would Ryan Lochte Do?” premieres April 21 on E!.
Participating in reality television can be a bit of a gamble.
We all know what happened to Bruce Jenner, a former Olympic-gold-medalist-turned-reality-star. He was once known as a well-respected athlete. Now he’s mainly talked about as Kim, Khloe and Kourtney’s stepfather.
Lochte maintains that he wants to remain famous for his athletic achievements.
“I hope that doesn’t happen with me,” Lochte said, according to USA Today. “Just because I love swimming. I hope people don’t lose that about me.”
