Manti Te’o’s 40-yard-dash time improves, slightly
Manti Te’o gave the 40-yard dash another try after clocking a less-than-impressive time of 4.82 at the NFL combine.
At Notre Dame’s pro day Tuesday, Te’o ran the sprint in 4.69 seconds, according to Notre Dame’s unofficial clock.
That means Te’o shaved off about one-tenth of a second from his initial time. It might not be a drastic improvement, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
“I felt good. I’m at home now,” Te’o told reporters. “I was very pleased with how I performed.”
Te’o had a great senior year at Notre Dame, but he didn’t perform well in the Discover BCS National Championship.
Then in January, Te’o made headlines for being the victim of an Internet hoax.
After his recent setbacks, Te’o seemed to really relish his performance Tuesday.
“This is possibly the best day ever. It’s a big, big burden off your shoulders,” he said. “It feels like it’s your birthday. I’m very glad that it’s over.”
