Actress Kaley Cuoco, tennis player Ryan Sweeting engaged

According to US Weekly magazine, rumors during the U.S. Open tennis tournament were true.

Actress Kaley Cuoco, best known for her starring role in the highly popular TV comedy “The Big Bang Theory” and her role in Priceline commercials with actor William Shatner, is engaged to American tennis player Ryan Sweeting, who played at Florida before joining the ATP Tour.

Sweeting is ranked No. 582 on the ATP Tour computer and his career-high ranking was 64. He won his first ATP-level tournament in Houston in 2011. The pair have been dating for three months. Sweeting was born in the Bahamas. His best Grand Slam-level tournament finishes have been second-rounders at the Australian Open, French Open and 2006 U.S. Open. Sweeting is 27.

As a freshman in 2006, Sweeting was arrested for a DUI and possession of illegal drugs including Adderall with a prescription. He was suspended briefly from the team and then turned pro shortly after. His ranking dropped precipitously because of injuries and said he may not return to pro tennis.

Cuoco was a talented junior tennis player before giving up the sport for acting.
