Chiefs’ Jamaal Charles bruises foot moving out of training camp dorm
Jamaal Charles survived all of training camp without any kind of significant injury.
That’s why folks were surprised to see that Kansas City’s star running back was not with his team Sunday night for a preseason game against the Panthers.
Seems they forgot to take moving day into account.
Charles suffered a bruised foot while carrying boxes out of the Missouri Western State dorms on Thursday night. The team was not available to media the next two days so the injury was only revealed Sunday, when it was learned that Charles hadn’t made the trip to Carolina with his teammates.
“He came down a grassy slope there and just kind of rolled his foot over on the curb,” Coach Andy Reid said Monday. “It was that simple. That was it.”
Reid added that X-rays and an MRI exam revealed no significant injury but gave no timetable for the return of the Chiefs’ leading rusher four of the last five years.
“We’re optimistic about it,” Reid said. “Initially there was some concern. He had all the stuff done on it, the X-rays, the MRIs and all that done on it. Everything is clear.”
