With the British Open a little more than a week away, Hank Haney isn’t giving Tiger Woods much chance to win.

The famed swing coach told the Scotsman that his former pupil “doesn’t care as much as he used to.”

Haney pointed out that, after making a comeback from back surgery at the Quicken Loans National last month, Woods will not be playing again until the Open begins on July 17.

“I can’t believe he feels like he is ready to win the Open,” Haney was quoted as saying. “If he did, he would have played at the Greenbrier this week or at the Scottish Open.”

Still, this year’s British Open will be played at Hoylake, the scene of Woods’ stellar performance in 2006. That year, he hit only one driver on the way to victory. Haney called it “far and away the best ball-striking tournament he ever had.”
