Erin Andrews fires back after David Pollack’s sexist remark

Erin Andrews, who gained fame as an ESPN sideline reporter, fired back at her former employer when poking fun at football analyst David Pollack, who opened mouth and inserted foot Saturday morning with a sexist remark regarding women not belonging on the college football playoff selection committee.

Pollack was reacting to news that former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is expected to be named to the committee. Pollack, a former Georgia player, said on ESPN’s “GameDay” show that he didn’t think women belonged on a committee that will choose the top four teams for the new playoff format that begins in 2014.

“I want people on this committee, guys, that can watch tape, yes, that have played football, that are around football, that can tell you different teams, on tape, not on paper,” Pollack said.

GameDay host Chris Fowler responded: “So no woman belongs on the committee, then?”

Replied Pollack: “You said that ... I’ll say it, yeah, yeah.”

Andrews retorted on Fox Sports 1’s pregame show regarding top headlines for the dayh: “I’m a female, thanks for having me in college football.”

Then again, that was her secondary headline to this prediction: “Chopped: Terrapins are going to take down the ‘Noles.” Ah, No. 8 Florida State routed No. 25 Maryland, 63-0.

But we can’t disagree with Andrews’ tweet.
