Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan is a rebounding machine on trip
DeAndre Jordan was a rebounding machine for the Clippers on their three-game trip.
Jordan, the Clippers’ 6-11 center, had 51 rebounds -- 18 offensive -- against the Orlando Magic, Miami Heat and Houston Rockets.
On Saturday night in the final game of the trip against the Rockets he had 18 rebounds, seven offensive.
Jordan had 19 rebounds (seven offensive) to open the trip at Orlando and had 14 rebounds (four offensive) at Miami.
“Everybody has a role,” Jordan said. “We have guys who are scorers. We have guys who are defenders. We have guys who are role guys. I’m just playing my role. That’s all.”
Because of Jordan’s effort on the backboards, the Clippers were not outrebounded in any of the games on the trip.
Both the Clippers and Orlando Magic had 51 rebounds in their game.
The Clippers outrebounded the Miami Heat, 38-30, and the Houston Rockets, 45-42.
“I just don’t ever want to be outrebounded as a team,” Jordan said. “That was our problem last year. We gave up a lot of offensive rebounds and it cost us some games. So, that’s definitely a main focus of mine this season.”
