Beyonce posts congratulations to Serena Williams on her website
When Serena Williams won the French Open women’s championship Saturday, her 16th Grand Slam singles title, the debate over her place in women’s tennis history (greatest ever?) began again.
Now you can add one more factor in her favor as the greatest ever: Beyonce likes her.
Yes, Beyonce, whose star power outshines even that of Williams, is a big fan. She posted a handwritten letter on her website Monday congratulating Williams on the victory. The letter reads:
“Stunt on them Serena. 31 and in your prime. You have no idea how much you inspire all of us women. I’m so proud of you.
All my love and respect,
Beyonce”
This is why most of America loves Beyonce. She can sing, dance and write a classy note. If she ever teams up with Williams, here’s guessing they could rule several small countries together.
