Mike Evans, who sat during national anthem to protest Donald Trump as president, may not have voted in election

Mike Evans decided to make a statement Sunday.

The Tampa Bay wide receiver sat out during the national anthem before the Buccaneers’ 36-10 win over Chicago and later told reporters he did so to protest Donald Trump’s election as president elect last week.

But it turns out Evans might have been able to do more. The Tampa Bay Times uncovered an Instagram post from Tuesday that asked “Who voted? Who didn’t?” and posed a similar question in the comment section.

That question was, “Did you vote?” And Evans’ Instagram handle, mikeevans, posted a simple answer:

“No.”

Six days later, though, he did not stand during the national anthem for the first time this season. When asked why he was protesting, Evans said: "For how a reality star can be the president.That's not a good look for America, I don't think, for who he is. It's not about the Republican Party, the Democratic Party or anything like that. It's who he is. It's well-documented what he's done, and I'm not going to stand for something I don't believe in."

And how long will this protest go on? “When Ashton Kutcher comes out and says we've been punked, then I'll stand again,” Evans said.
