Xavier Henry scores 15 points for D-Fenders in a loss
Xavier Henry returned to the basketball court on Thursday, albeit in the NBA Development League on assignment from the Lakers.
Henry has not played since he injured a knee on Dec. 29 after he had averaged 10.1 points through 31 games.
The Lakers sent Henry to play with the D-Fenders in Texas against the Legends as one of the last steps in his recovery.
After 2 months it felt good just to pick up a basketball and run down the court again .. Gonna continue to push through #Blessed #Hardwork— Xavier Henry (@XavierHenry) February 28, 2014
Henry scored 15 points and had four steals in his D-Fenders’ debut, but the Lakers’ affiliate fell to the Legends, 121-103.
Former Laker Manny Harris scored 29 points and had nine rebounds.
Bernard James (38 points, 18 rebounds), Jae Crowder (23 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists) and Shane Larkin (nine points with nine assists), all on assignment from the Dallas Mavericks, led the Legends.
