Pau Gasol confirmed on Tuesday that he is no longer reliant on crutches.

The Lakers forward/center is currently sidelined with a foot injury (torn plantar fascia) suffered Feb. 8 in the Lakers 92-83 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Gasol was declared out for a minimum of six to eight weeks. On Tuesday he tweeted his own status update:

Back in the training room this morning. Today it’s 3 weeks since I injured my foot. Everyday is feeling better. Still no set date for return — Pau Gasol (@paugasol) February 26, 2013

The Lakers are currently 28-30 -- good for ninth place in the Western Conference. The team has 24 games left in the season.

The Lakers have relied heavily on Earl Clark, Antawn Jamison and Metta World Peace to fill Gasol’s minutes.

Gasol would miss another 11 games if he’s out for three more weeks.
