Lakers, NBA schedule to be announced Tuesday afternoon
The NBA will release the schedule for the 2013-14 season on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
The Lakers will play the standard 82-game schedule with 52 against Western Conference foes, meeting 10 of the other 14 teams four times apiece. The Lakers will also battle the remaining four teams just three times.
Thirty games will be against the Eastern Conference, the Lakers facing each team twice.
Some of the dates have already leaked. Reports have the Lakers hosting the Miami Heat on Christmas Day. The Lakers are expected to visit the Houston Rockets on Nov. 7.
Once announced, one of the biggest questions will be Kobe Bryant’s status as he tries to recover from his Achilles injury. Will he make it back for opening night, November or even December?
While Bryant appears to be ahead of schedule, the All-Star guard will visit with doctors near the end of August to get a realistic time frame.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Time Warner Cable SportsNet will air a live studio show entitled, “Access SportsNet: Lakers 2013-14 Schedule Release,” to analyze the matchups with Chris McGee, Andy Adler, John Ireland and Michael Cooper.
