The nucleus of this team won 2 titles and 3 Finals. LA tried to radically overhaul their team. They weren’t allowed to do so. In a strike-shortened season with a new coach (and a petulant heir apparent), getting beaten by a younger, hungrier team with a clear, cohesive identity was predictable.
