Jordan Hill underwent surgery Wednesday morning to repair his injured left hip.

Performed by Dr. Thomas Byrd in Nashville, Hill had loose fragments removed from the joint. He also had a torn labrum repaired and a microfracture procedure to heal damaged cartilage.

Hill is expected to be out for six months. He will be re-evaluated by Byrd in February.

The Lakers forward/center was injured Jan. 6 against the Denver Nuggets.

Hill signed a two-year deal with the Lakers over the summer for $7.1 million. The team has requested a disabled player exception from the league, which would give the team an added $1.78 million to $1.88 million in spending power.

With Hill sidelined, Earl Clark has played well, but the Lakers have struggled to get wins.
