Dwight Howard a game-time decision tonight for Lakers
Lakers center Dwight Howard might play tonight. Or he might not.
He didn’t seem concerned either way. It’s an exhibition game after all, against the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center.
Howard delivered his thoughts on the possibility of playing while imitating Lakers assistant coach Chuck Person.
“Dwight Howard is a game-time decision tonight,” Howard said Sunday in a kind, deliberate voice. “That means you have to wait until the game starts. If you see him warming up, it means the decision was made. If you don’t see him warming up, it means the decision was that he’s not playing.”
Howard has worked with Person throughout the exhibition season. Person gave him guidance while Howard shot free throws after Sunday morning’s shoot-around.
Howard underwent back surgery in April to repair a herniated disk but has been practicing regularly with the team.
The Lakers (0-5) are off to their worst exhibition start ever. They are the only NBA team without a victory and have two exhibition games left after tonight.
