Live chat: Can the Lakers survive without Kobe Bryant?
Join Lakers Now blogger Eric Pincus at 1 p.m. Friday to chat about Kobe Bryant, his sprained left ankle and all things Lakers.
How long will Bryant be out with the injury and can the Lakers survive without him?
Bryant landed on the foot of Dahntay Jones in the closing seconds of a 96-92 loss on Wednesday to the Atlanta Hawks.
The NBA has since announced that a foul should have been called on Jones, which would have given Bryant two free throws and a chance to tie the score with 3.9 seconds left.
Now the Lakers guard is out indefinitely with a severely sprained ankle as the team tries to keep hold of their tenuous grasp on eighth place, and the final playoff spot, in the Western Conference.
