Manny Harris leaves D-Fenders for Turkey
While with the Lakers on a 10-day contract, guard Manny Harris puts up a shot in January 2014 during a loss to the Indiana Pacers.
Former Lakers forward Manny Harris recently left the D-Fenders to play in Turkey with Turk Telekom Ankara.
Harris played through a pair of 10-day contracts with the Lakers, averaging 8.1 points and 3.8 rebounds over nine appearances.
After the Lakers decided not to re-sign him for the remainder of the season, he rejoined the Lakers’ NBA Development League affiliate D-Fenders.
Through 22 games in the D-League, Harris averaged 31.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists a game. He was named NBA D-League performer of the week twice.
Former Lakers forward Shawne Williams remains with the 26-16 D-Fenders, who are in first place in the West Division.
On Thursday, the New York Knicks re-signed Shannon Brown for the rest of the year after his second 10-day contract expired. The Knicks chose to let Earl Clark go. Both Brown and Clark are former Lakers.
The Philadelphia 76ers recently signed Darius Johnson-Odom to a 10-day contract. Johnson-Odom was originally drafted by the Lakers in 2012 with the 55th overall pick.
