Xavier Henry to play tuneup game Thursday with D-Fenders
Xavier Henry has yet to suit up for the Lakers in 2014, felled by a knee injury in a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 29.
On Thursday, Henry will make an appearance with the D-Fenders in one of the final stages of his recovery from a bone bruise and abnormality of the lateral meniscus.
Henry will join the Lakers’ D-League affiliate as they visit the Texas Legends.
Through 31 games with the Lakers, Henry has averaged 10.1 points. He’s missed 27 games, just one of the many long-term injuries the Lakers have faced this season.
The D-Fenders (20-13) are in first place in the NBA Development League’s West Division.
Henry will join former Lakers Shawne Williams and Manny Harris with the D-Fenders.
The game will be streamed live on YouTube.
The Lakers play the Sacramento Kings on Friday at Staples Center, the travel to Portland to face the Trail Blazers on Monday.
