Lakers center Robert Sacre finally joins Twitter
Robert Sacre has finally joined Twitter.
The second-year center signed a three-year deal with the Lakers in July, with two seasons fully guaranteed.
Sacre made his first tweet on Friday.
Hello Twitter! The REAL Sacre is finally here.... Lovin LA and living the dream! — Robert Sacre (@Bobby_Sacre) September 27, 2013
On Saturday, as the Lakers opened training camp, Sacre said he believes the work he’s put in this summer has already made him a better player.
“I’m pretty impressed on how I progressed, I’m not going to lie,” he said. “I feel very confident within my game and very happy to be in the gym every day.”
What has he improved?
“Everything, my all-round game,” he said. “I really focused on just getting better all around and being a dynamic basketball player.”
Sacre made 32 appearances last season, including three starts -- but didn’t get much of an opportunity to play as a rookie (6.3 minutes a game).
While he’d love a bigger role this season, Sacre isn’t hung up playing time and minutes.
“I’ll come off the bench and bring a lot of energy,” Sacre said. “I’ll do whatever my team needs me to do and just have fun with it -- just enjoy being a part this great team.”
Landing a multi-year contract certainly helped Sacre approach the game with a clear head.
“It takes a little bit of weight off that chest,” he said. “I’m not going to lie, it feels pretty good.”
