Lakers reassign Robert Sacre to D-Fenders
The Lakers have reassigned center Robert Sacre to the D-Fenders.
Sacre, taken with the 60th and final pick of the 2012 NBA draft, will join the Lakers’ D-League affiliate for the third time this season. In three games for the D-Fenders, Sacre averaged 7.7 points and 9.7 rebounds.
The Lakers still have rookie Darius Johnson-Odom in the D-League. Through 11 games he’s leading the D-Fenders with 21.1 points a game while shooting 43.8% from the field and 39.6% from three-point range. He’s also averaging 5.3 assists and 1.4 steals.
The D-Fenders play the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Saturday night in El Segundo.
Both Sacre and Johnson-Odom have non-guaranteed contracts. The Lakers have to decide by Tuesday if they want to keep either rookie for the rest of the season (leaving 48 hours for the two to clear waivers).
The Lakers currently have the league maximum 15 players on the roster with 13 having guaranteed contracts.
