Kobe Bryant is leading the league with 12 technical fouls. He received his 12th Wednesday night in a win over the Boston Celtics.
The NBA suspends a player for one game after their 16th technical.
So far Bryant has paid $33,000 in fines -- currently in the $4,000 range per technical. The initial penalty is $2,000, climbing to $3,000 after the fifth and jumping to $4,000 after the 10th.
Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder is second with 11 technical fouls. DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings has been called for 11 but had one rescinded.
Metta World Peace is second on the Lakers with five technical fouls. Dwight Howard has been hit with five but had two reversed.
Coach Mike D’Antoni has just one this season, earned on Christmas Day against the New York Knicks.
