Lakers’ Timofey Mozgov won’t play Wednesday against Atlanta because of injuries
Reporting from ATLANTA — Lakers center Timofey Mozgov will not play Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks, the Lakers announced.
Mozgov suffered two injuries to his face on Tuesday in Indianapolis. He missed most of the second half of the Lakers’ 115-108 loss to the Indiana Pacers.
Mozgov’s first injury was a laceration in his mouth which came when Pacers guard Jeff Teague inadvertently elbowed him in the face. He returned to the game, intending to get stitches afterward, but shortly after his return he was poked in the left eye. The injury impaired his vision.
Mozgov had a CT scan on Wednesday to determine whether he has an orbital fracture on his left eye, but those results are not available yet.
