Robert Griffin III fined $10,000 for wearing the wrong shirt
Now that is one expensive shirt.
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was fined $10,000 by the NFL for wearing “unauthorized apparel” to his postgame news conference Sunday.
See, the problem is that Griffin has a sponsorship deal with Adidas, but the NFL has a league-wide deal with Nike.
When Griffin arrived at the news conference wearing an Adidas T-shirt, that was a big no-no in the eyes of the league. So he was fined.
Of course, considering Griffin signed a four-year, $21-million deal with the Redskins before the season started, $10,000 is probably not that big of a deal to him.
