Packers’ Andrew Quarless arrested on suspicion of firing gun in public
Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless was arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm in public after allegedly getting into an argument in Miami Beach on Saturday morning.
According to a police report obtained by the Associated Press, Quarless allegedly fired two shots in the air while arguing with a group of women outside a parking garage around 5:30 a.m. EDT.
The report affidavit states Quarless and another man approached a car full of women and began to argue with them. A witness told police he heard the women yelling for Quarless and the man to leave them alone. Quarless then pulled out a semiautomatic handgun and fired two rounds into the air, the report said.
Quarless and the man left the scene before police arrived, the report said. He was found a few blocks away and, according to police, was “attempting to conceal himself and a black firearm in a nearby plant.”
Police recovered the gun and arrested Quarless on a misdemeanor count of firing a firearm in public. Police reported there were no injuries tied to the shooting.
The Packers have not publicly responded to Quarless’ arrest, which was first reported by the Miami New Times.
Quarless, 26, caught 29 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns in 11 starts last season with the Packers.
