Southern Section to induct 15 into its Hall of Fame
The Southern Section will induct 15 individual into its Hall of Fame on Oct. 14 in Long Beach.
Among the inductees will be former St. Paul football Coach Marijon Ancich; former Warren baseball Coach Tom Bergeron; former Lompoc baseball Coach Dan Bodary; former Santa Ana teacher, coach and administrator Earl Engman; former Pacifica and El Dorado wrestling Coach Frank Gonzales; former Crescenta Valley basketball Coach Ed Goorjian, and former Loyola football Coach Steve Grady.
Others are former San Marcos basketball Coach Maury Halleck; former La Reina softball Coach Don Hyatt; former La Quinta volleyball Coach Larry James; former Huntington Beach girls’ basketball Coach Joanne Kellogg; former Fountain Valley baseball Coach Ron LaRuffa; former Nogales baseball Coach John Romano; former Corona baseball Coach Lyle Wilkerson; former Woodcrest Christian cross country Coach Billy York.
Receiving distinguished service awards are athletic trainer Jim Clover and administrators Bill Dabbs, Tony Diaz, Ray Moore, Rick Obrand and Greta Rens and track official Doug Speck.
