Girls’ basketball: Windward vs. Lynwood for Palisades tournament title
The championship game of the Palisades girls’ basketball tournament is set for Saturday at 8:30 p.m., and it will match L.A. Windward against Lynwood.
On Friday, Windward defeated Troy, 57-30, in the semifinals, with Jordin Canada scoring 24 points. Lynwood defeated Alemany, 62-56. Estela Gutierrez had 15 points for Lynwood.
In other games, Garces defeated Valencia, 37-31. Chaminade defeated Palisades, 53-24. Devin Stanback had 19 points. Bishop Montgomery defeated North, 60-46. Jessica Malazarte scored 15 points.
Camarillo defeated Santa Monica, 59-24. Geraldynn Leaupepe had 19 points and sister Geralynn had 15 points.
Ijeoma Anugwom had 36 points in Westchester’s 63-52 win over Palos Verdes. Marlborugh defeated Taft, 69-26.
Saturday’s complete schedule: Taft vs. Palos Verdes, 10 a.m.; Marlborugh vs. Westchester, 11:30 a.m.; Santa Monica vs. North, 1 p.m.; Camarillo vs. Bishop Montgomery, 2:30 p.m.; Palisades vs. Valencia, 4 p.m.; Chaminade vs. Garces, 5:30 p.m.; Troy vs. Alemany, 7 p.m.; Windward vs. Lynwood, 8:30 p.m.
