Football: Lincoln’s ‘Twin Towers’ key win over Franklin
Los Angeles Lincoln Coach Albert Carrillo has been relying on his “Twin Towers” this season.
Brandon Oroxon is 5 feet 4. Albert Ramirez is slightly taller at 5-5. Together, the two tiny but relentless seniors helped Lincoln defeat Franklin, 22-15, last week to improve to 4-1 in the Northern League.
Ramirez, a defensive back, has 74 tackles this season. He had an interception and fumble recovery against Franklin. Oroxon, a receiver, had a touchdown.
“He’s tremendous for his size,” Carrillo said of Ramirez. “He’s been playing forever.”
Oroxon and Ramirez are best friends. And they don’t care who is taller. They just love playing football and helping the Tigers keep winning.
“Those are our ‘Twin Towers,’” Carrillo said.
