Football: Get ready for Brady White vs. Blake Barnett, round 2
Two of the top quarterbacks in Southern California, Brady White of Newhall Hart and Blake Barnett of Corona Santiago, will get a second meeting this fall at College of the Canyons. You might want to bring a calculator to figure out passing and rushing yards.
Last season, in the season opener, White, who has scholarship offers from Arizona State, California and Penn State, completed 35 of 46 passes for 471 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-49 victory over Santiago and Barnett.
Barnett passed for 289 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 92 yards in four carries and scored one touchdown. He has committed to Notre Dame.
It will be Hart’s fifth game of the season when the two schools play. Hart opens its season on the road against Chino Hills, then plays at Chaminade, home against Paraclete, at Muir and home against Santiago.
Coach Mike Herrington doesn’t like to play against private schools, so why are Chaminade and Paraclete on his schedule?
“No one else will play us,” he said.
