Football: Camarillo will try to break up Mission League trio
Gardena Serra, Chaminade and St. Francis, the top three teams from the Mission League, appear headed to the Western Division semifinals. But Camarillo, the No. 4 seed, hopes to prevent that.
Camarillo plays at St. Francis on Friday in a quarterfinal game. The Scorpions (10-1) have a dangerous passing attack featuring junior quarterback Geron Rogers, who has passed for 1,989 yards and 21 touchdowns, and 6-foot-3 sophomore receiver Frankie Tostado, who has 56 catches for 939 yards and nine touchdowns.
St. Francis (9-2) has played the tougher schedule, with its only losses to Serra and Chaminade. Ty Gangi has passed for 2,485 yards and 25 touchdowns.
