With Matt Kemp and two other starters on the disabled list, the Dodgers fielded a lineup Tuesday that would have looked at home back at Camelback Ranch, and it went quietly enough in a 5-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks before an announced crowd of 47,077.

The defeat snapped a five-game winning streak for the Dodgers, though they continued to own the major league’s best record at 24-12. They went 6-2 on their homestand.

The only run the Dodgers mustered against Arizona left-hander Wade Miley came via a solo homer from Mark Ellis in the sixth inning.

Of course, the Dodgers fielded a lineup that included three starters who were playing in the minors a week ago -- Jerry Sands, Justin Sellers and Scott Van Slyke (who actually hit third).

Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley once again struggled, getting knocked out of the game after completing only four innings in his second consecutive start.

The Diamondbacks scored once off Billingsley on a bases-loaded walk in the second, but chased him when he failed to get an out in the fifth.

Arizona loaded the bases on three consecutive singles, before Justin Upton singled off a diving Dee Gordon for one run and Miguel Montero’s hit drove in another.

Javy Guerra, the former closer, then took over for Billingsley and immediately gave up a run-scoring single to Jason Kubel that gave the Diamondbacks a 4-0 lead.

In his four-plus innings, Billingsley (2-3) gave up the four runs on eight hits and two walks. His earned-run average was left at 3.83.

The Diamondbacks were in serious need of a victory, having lost eight of their last nine games. They wrapped up their little two-game trip in Los Angeles 8½ games back of the Dodgers.
