Closing of Dodgers sale delayed
Frank McCourt will remain the owner of the Dodgers for at least one more night.
The sale of the team was expected to close Monday. However, the hope is that the deal can close on Tuesday, according to two people familiar with the sale process.
McCourt has agreed to sell the Dodgers for a record $2.15 billion to Guggenheim Baseball, a group fronted by Magic Johnson and incoming team President Stan Kasten.
The deal is financed by Chicago-based Guggenheim Financial, and that company’s chief executive, Mark Walter, is in line to become the Dodgers’ new controlling owner.
