Dodgers filling out familiar broadcast teams for 2013
Well, that’s the whole gang. Almost, anyway.
Having already announced that the big boys, Vin Scully and Jaime Jarrin, would return next season, the Dodgers made it a group effort Saturday.
They said that also returning to the broadcast booth next season will be Charley Steiner, Rick Monday, Eric Collins, Steve Lyons, Fernando Valenzuela and Pepe Yniguez.
That’s everyone but Spanish-language TV broadcasters Jorge Jarrin and Manny Mota, who are expected to be announced later.
“We are delighted to have our outstanding broadcast team back with us for what promises to be an exciting 2013 season,” Dodgers Chief Executive Stan Kasten said in a statement.
Next season will be Monday’s 20th year as a Dodgers broadcaster. Steiner will be in his eighth season with Monday calling all games on the radio.
Collins and Lyons call all televised games on Prime Ticket and KCAL 9 that are broadcast outside California and Arizona. Valenzuela has done Spanish-language radio color commentary for 10 years, and Yniguez handles the play-by-play along with Jaime Jarrin.
