Crystal Villarreal

Crystal Villarreal is an assistant editor with the De Los team at the Los Angeles Times. Previously, she worked as an assistant editor in Opinion and an audience engagement editor. Before joining The Times, Villarreal worked at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where she wrote, edited and promoted lifestyle and entertainment content while managing a team of producers. She also worked as a managing editor for a business trade publication in Atlanta. She is a published young-adult author and a freelance screenwriter for children’s cartoons. She holds bachelor’s degrees in women’s studies and journalism from the University of Georgia.
