Cycling the mean streets of Hollywood
Whether it’s real life or the silver screen version, cyclists come in for more than their share of bumps and bruises. From 2012’s “This Is 40” to the 1979 classic “Breaking Away” -- and other hits and misses -- Hollywood has shown us cycling at its best, worst and silliest. One thing’s for sure, though: In Hollywood, to borrow a phrase, “No stunt cyclists were hurt in the making of these movies.” MORE: L.A. as a bike-friendly place? Forget it. It’s too dangerous.
