Justin Bieber stumbles in sobriety test, new video shows

Wearing bright orange shoes and sticking his arms out to help steady himself, Justin Bieber stumbled at least twice during a toe-the-line sobriety test at a Miami Beach jail.

The video from a jail surveillance camera was among the few scenes that captured Bieber, according to media reports, among 10 hours of video footage released Wednesday by the Miami Beach Police Department.

Evidence in criminal cases is public record in Florida once turned over to the defense. Media covering the 19-year-old pop singer’s DUI case requested the video’s release.

Bieber has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence, resisting arrest and invalid license charges stemming from the Jan. 23 arrest. His blood-alcohol level tested below Florida’s legal limit of 0.02 for drivers under age 21, but he tested positive for marijuana and Xanax.

Authorities said he was drag-racing in a Lamborghini, though he was not charged with that.

He’s also under investigation in the egging of a neighbor’s house in Calabasas, and is charged with assault in connection with the alleged beating of his Toronto limo driver. Authorities in Atlanta this week arrested Bieber’s security guard on suspicion of taking away a photographer’s camera.

More video footage could arrive as early as next week. A Miami-Dade County judge is reviewing five sensitive sections, including Bieber urinating into a cup for drug test, and is expected to decide by March 4 whether to release those clips to the media.

According to the police reports, on the day of his arrest Bieber was being generally uncooperative, slurring his words and cussing at a police officer who had pulled him over.

“Why the [expletive] are you doing this?” the report quoted Bieber as saying. Bieber was charged with misdemeanor DUI and resisting arrest.

Some video of Bieber in police custody has already been released, showing the rail-thin teen star famous for singing “Baby” getting frisked for weapons by a hulking cop.

A trial in the case is scheduled for March 17.
