#IfTheyGunnedMeDown ponders portrayal of minorities killed by police

The hashtag #IfTheyGunnedMeDown quickly spread on Twitter over the weekend after the fatal police shooting of the unarmed Mike Brown in a suburb of St. Louis, Mo. Yesha Callahan of TheRoot.com said the tag's purpose is "to make a statement about how the media draws a biased narrative when it comes to telling the stories of black men and women." People began posting seemingly contrasting photos of themselves, and asked which one would be used if they were shot and killed. Here's a sampling.
