Must see: Rob Ford replaces Van Damme in parody of ‘Epic Split’ video
A new parody video replaces Jean-Claude Van Damme with Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, doing the splits atop moving Volvo trucks.
The Volvo ad was the latest viral stunt video from Volvo Trucks. Van Damme is poised above the trucks, which are moving in reverse. As the trucks separate, Van Damme opens his eyes — slowly — and he performs the split, one foot on each truck. Arms crossed over his chest, he’s the picture of serenity.
The face dub is a salute to the epic split of Van Damme and the epic adventures of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, according to visual effects company Artjail, which posted the parody.
Ford, the controversial mayor of Toronto, has not been the picture of serenity amid admissions of drug use and drunkenness.
“We were completely in awe of the Volvo Van Damme Epic Splits spot. And remain completely in Awe of Mayor Ford’s Epic lifestyle north of the border,” Artjail posted on YouTube.
