Puppy Bowl X starting lineup announced
Which player can you watch on Super Bowl Sunday who “aspires to have hair like One Direction’s ‘Harry Styles’”?
That would be Danny, the 12-week-old Papillion mix who will play in Puppy Bowl X.
It’s the 10th edition of Animal Planet’s Super Bowl counter-programming, and the network has revealed which 38 pups made the starting lineup.
The puppies are featured in a slideshow on Animal Planet’s website, along with their name, breed, gender, age, a fun fact about them and the adoption agency they hail from.
Danny’s not the only dog apparently concerned with the affairs of One Direction. Max, a 16-week-old Shih Tzu/Pekingese mix, “wants One Direction and The Wanted to just get along.”
Bach “thinks Mozart is overrated,” and Prada “would never be caught dead in Burberry.” Meanwhile, Dee Dee “believes the best movie kiss was Kate and Leonardo in ‘Titanic.’”
Animal Planet announced some new Puppy Bowl features this year, including a Fantasy Puppy League, online MVP voting and penguin cheerleaders.
Puppy Bowl X will air Feb. 2 at noon Pacific time and will repeat “all day and night,” Animal Planet said in statement. Last year’s Puppy Bowl garnered 12.4 million viewers, the network said.
Also among Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl X announcements: This year’s halftime show will feature a performance by Internet sensation Keyboard Cat.
That last part should please Puppy Bowler Artemis, who “goes nuts for cat videos.” Maybe she’ll get an autograph.
