Baby, it’s freezing outside: Temperatures dip to 20s in parts of Los Angeles County
Chilly temperatures kept Southern California residents feeling a bit frosty Tuesday as some lows dipped into the 20s and 30s.
A cold front is funneling chilly air and winds over Southern California, forcing temperatures to plummet Monday night and early Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Freeze warnings remained in effect until 9 a.m. for Ventura County.
Tuesday night isn’t expected to be any warmer.
“Tonight will be coldest night of the season so far,” the weather service said, adding that freeze watches were issued for many areas along the coast.
Forecasters said the coldest temperatures early Tuesday were in northern Los Angeles County, where wind gusts were expected to hit 45 mph.
Mt. Wilson was at a frigid 24 degrees, while temperatures fell to 29 degrees in Sandberg. Palmdale and Lancaster were at 30 degrees.
The chilly temperatures are expected to stick around until Thursday, with warm to normal temperatures returning Friday.

“It will be a very cold Wednesday and Thursday mornings,” the weather service said. “There will be many areas away from the coast with lows in the 20s.”
A low-pressure system is expected to swoop into the Southern California on Saturday, bringing the chance of rain and more cool temperatures.
